Self-Referral Blood Tests

Is self-referral right for you?

Self-referral is a good option if:

  • You’d like blood tests for your own interest or peace of mind
  • You want routine health checks, such as cholesterol, vitamins or thyroid
  • Another specialist or practitioner has asked you to have specific blood tests

Book a GP consultation first if:

  • You have symptoms and aren’t sure which tests you need

A GP can assess your symptoms properly and make sure you have the right tests, so you don’t pay for ones you don’t need. You can book a GP appointment before your blood tests, or a follow-up afterwards to go through your results.

How it works

  1. Complete our self-referral form. It’s a short online questionnaire about your health and what you’d like to check. It’s free, with no obligation. Self refer now
  2. A doctor reviews it within 24 hours. One of our doctors will look at your answers and decide whether a self-referral blood test is right for you.
  3. We email you our recommendation. You’ll receive the most suitable tests or packages, with prices and a link to book.
  4. Book and pay online. Payment is taken when you book.
  5. Have your blood taken at our Notting Hill clinic. Blood tests can also be arranged at over 150 sites across the UK. If this is more convenient, let us know and we’ll arrange it for you.
  6. Receive your results by email. If you’d like to discuss them, you can book a follow-up consultation with one of our GPs.

Preparation: Some tests need fasting or a morning appointment. We’ll include this in our email.

Your results

Results are available from 24 hours, depending on the test. You’ll be told how long your tests will take when you book.

If any of your results are very abnormal, a doctor will contact you urgently. Please make sure your phone number and email address are correct when you book.

Cancellations and payment

Payment for your appointment is taken when you book. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. A £50 fee applies for late cancellations and missed appointments.

Price

Prices depend on the tests you need. We’ll send you a personalised quote with your recommendation after our doctor has reviewed your form. Our prices are competitive, and there’s no obligation to book.
