Blood Testing
At The Hill Practice, we offer a wide range of blood tests from routine health checks to more complex investigations tailored to your individual needs.
Whether you’re experiencing symptoms, monitoring a known condition, or simply wanting reassurance, blood tests can offer valuable insight into your overall health and help guide the right course of action.
What We Offer:
- Routine health checks (e.g. full blood count, cholesterol, thyroid function, vitamin levels)
- Hormonal testing (e.g. testosterone, oestrogen, cortisol, thyroid hormones)
- Metabolic markers (e.g. blood glucose, insulin resistance, liver and kidney function)
- Nutritional and inflammatory markers (e.g. B12, folate, iron studies, CRP)
- Specialist panels (e.g. fertility, menopause, fatigue, autoimmune screening)
How It Works:
To ensure the right tests are selected, we recommend booking a GP consultation. This allows us to understand your symptoms, medical history, and health goals and tailor your testing accordingly.
We also include targeted blood tests as part of our comprehensive Women’s and Men’s Health Screening Packages, designed to give you a deeper understanding of your health and support long-term wellbeing.
Please call or email The Hill Practice to arrange an appointment or use our online booking system which is available to both existing and new patients.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book a GP appointment before a blood test?
Yes. We recommend a GP consultation with Dr Mona Barzin to determine which tests are most appropriate for your symptoms or concerns. This ensures you receive the most relevant and cost-effective investigations.
Are blood tests included in health screening packages?
Yes. Our Women’s and Men’s Health Screening Packages include a carefully selected panel of blood tests tailored to your age, health status, and goals. These provide a comprehensive overview of your wellbeing.
Can I request a specific blood test?
Absolutely. If you have a particular test in mind — for example, a hormone profile, cholesterol check, or vitamin levels — we’re happy to discuss this during your consultation and advise whether it’s appropriate.
How do I prepare for a blood test?
Some tests require fasting or should be done at a certain time of day. We will let you know in advance if any preparation is needed to ensure accurate results.
How quickly will I receive my results?
Results are usually available within 24 to 72 hours, depending on the test. We’ll contact you to arrange a follow-up if needed, or to explain your results and next steps.
Do you test for fatigue, thyroid problems, or hormone imbalances?
Yes — we offer testing for a wide range of concerns including fatigue, underactive thyroid, adrenal stress, menopause, PCOS, low testosterone, and more. These are discussed during your GP consultation and selected based on your history and symptoms.
