Menopause Care

Menopause is a natural phase of life that all women will experience, yet it is often misunderstood, underdiagnosed, or inadequately managed. At The Hill Practice, we are passionate about changing that narrative — by providing thoughtful, informed, and highly personalised care for women going through perimenopause and menopause.

Menopause can affect nearly every system in the body, and no two women experience it in exactly the same way. Symptoms may be physical, emotional, hormonal, or cognitive — and can significantly impact quality of life, relationships, work, and self-esteem.

Unfortunately, many women feel their concerns are dismissed or overlooked. Menopause symptoms are frequently misattributed or under-recognised, and many healthcare professionals receive limited training in this area.

At The Hill Practice, we believe in empowering women to understand their bodies and to feel confident navigating this transition. Dr Mona Barzin has a special interest in menopause and women’s health, and offers dedicated consultations to explore your symptoms in detail, including:

  • Irregular or heavy periods
  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Mood changes, anxiety or low mood
  • Brain fog and memory issues
  • Low libido or sexual discomfort
  • Vaginal dryness or urinary changes
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Fatigue, joint pain or weight gain
  • Changes in skin, hair, or bone health

During your Menopause Consultation, you’ll have the time and space to speak openly about how you’re feeling. Together, we will explore your symptoms, medical history, and any investigations that may be helpful (such as hormone or thyroid blood tests), and discuss all available treatment options — including HRT, lifestyle strategies, nutrition, supplements, and holistic support.

Every care plan is tailored to you — your symptoms, your goals, and your lifestyle.

If you are approaching perimenopause, currently going through menopause, or have already transitioned and are still experiencing symptoms, we’re here to help. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

Frequently asked questions

Perimenopause is the transitional phase before menopause, where hormone levels fluctuate and symptoms begin. Menopause is defined as 12 months after your last period. Both can bring physical, emotional, and cognitive changes — and both are fully supported at The Hill Practice.

Common symptoms include hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, anxiety, brain fog, low libido, fatigue, sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, and joint pain. Every woman’s experience is unique, and we tailor our care accordingly.

You’ll have a relaxed, in-depth consultation with Dr Mona Barzin to explore your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and any relevant investigations (e.g. hormone or thyroid blood tests). We then discuss personalised treatment options — including HRT and holistic approaches.

Yes. Hormone and thyroid testing may be recommended based on your symptoms and medical history. Blood tests are tailored to your stage of life and health goals.

Absolutely. We provide non-hormonal strategies, nutritional and lifestyle support, and holistic options for women who prefer or require alternatives to HRT.

It’s never too late to seek support. Many women experience lingering symptoms years after menopause. We work with women at all stages — perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.

Yes. Mood swings, anxiety, low mood, and brain fog are common symptoms. We address mental wellbeing as a core part of your consultation, and offer support that integrates both physical and emotional care.

Appointments can be made via phone, email, or online. We welcome patients from Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea, Maida Vale, and across West London.
